Born on 29 Nov 1974 in Belgrade; lives and works in Podgorica, Montenegro. Actively involved with music since 1989, he performs in many Montenegrin rock bands of the time (Gospoda Glembajevi, Rocni mir). He graduates from the Piano and Clarinet Departments of the Secondary Music School "Vasa Pavic". He plays string instruments (guitar, bass guitar) and uses these skills for his studio work. He works in Belgrade from 1993 to 1998 where he meets Kornelije Kovac and with his help he enters a number of musical projects, mostly as an arranger (Maja Odzaklijevska, Bisera Veletanlic, Knez and many others). At the same time, he plays in Rambo Amadeus’ band (Mutant Jazz Band).

Maras appears for the first time as the author of instrumental music with the composition "Vibe Era" on the "OKEAN" compilation of instrumental music, published by City Records. After moving back to Podgorica he prepares his debut album of instrumental music "Pod kamenom", which is published in 2001 and has a successful promotion at the Montenegrin National Theatre. Guests at the promotion were Kornelije Kovac and Vasil Hadzimanov. In november 2002 Vladimir Maras & banD with great success perform and promote "Pod kamenom" in the crowded "M" studio in Novi Sad, within "Old Gold Jazz Festival", together with Big Band of RTV Ljubljana, Bosko Petrovic and his trio, Bojan Zulfikarpasic and many other names from today's jazz scene.

In 2011 he also received the Prince's Prize of the "Suncane skale" festival for the best instrumental album in Serbia and Montenegro and the annual award "Montefon" in the same category.

Until November 2005 he was preparing his second album of instrumental music "Letters from Montenegro", published by Goraton. In December the album was promoted at the Cultural Information Centre "Budo Tomovic" in Podgorica. It was awarded with "Montefon" in the category of the best instrumental album.

The third (double) CD "10/8" (Ten eighth-note) was released in 2011 and published by Goraton. It carries 18 compositions, out of which ten (CD1 - Balkan Sounds) in ethno jazz fashion with several interpretations of ethno music from the Balkans, and eight original compositions (CD2 - Groovy Groovz) in the jazz-funk style.

Vladimir Maras from the beginning cooperates with: Sule Jovovic - guitar, Bata Bozanic - bass, Mixajlo Krstic - bass, Uros Secerov - percussions, Petar Radmilovic - drums, Mihail Parusev - drums, Ljubisa Paunic - saxophone, Vlada Krnetic – trumpet, Ivan Ilic - trombone, Sasa Randjelovic Randja - guitar.

He also works as an author of short forms of music, clips, jingles and commercials. Maras also composes music for theatre (Teatar mladih - Cetinje, the play "Corba od kanarinca").

From the beginning of work of the TV "IN" in Podgorica (11 Feb 2002), he worked as the editor of the music program at this television. He is the author of the music for over 90% clips and television commercials at “IN”. Maras has his own music studio "Balkan 2".

He is the director and co-owner of the Marketing Agency "Composite Montenegro", as well as the Record Company "Rabbit Records" and Ethno Jazz Club "Sejdefa".
